Because of surface tension, the liquid drop alone tends to sit in a thick dome. With a cover glass in place, the drop is flattened out, allowing the clinician to focus with high power very close to the specimen. The cover glass also confines the specimen to a single plane which reduces the amount of focusing necessary. The cover glass also protects the objective lens from immersion into the liquid.
#1 cover glass is recommended for oil immersion or high resolution work.
#2 is used for general applications.

3704
22 x 22 mm, #1 (0.13 - 0.18 mm thickness)
200/bx

3705
22 x 22 mm, #2 (0.17 - 0.25 mm thickness)
100/bx

Manufacturer reference

Description

Packaging

3704

22 x 22 mm, #1 (0.13 - 0.18 mm thickness)

200EA/BX

3705

22 x 22 mm, #2 (0.17 - 0.25 mm thickness)

100EA/BX
